Operator Rising

Tuesday, January 15th, 2008

Often, an “operator” is a function that acts on functions to produce other functions (the sense in which Oliver Heaviside used the term); or it may be a generalization of such a function, as in linear algebra. At this very moment, Operator is just topping the video charts.

Just got word that our second Operator video, “Nothing To Lose” is making moves on MTVu’s Freshman and that it topped Fuse’s Oven Fresh.

HAPPY NEW YEAR, ARTIFICIAL ARMY STYLE!

These Arms Are Snakes
“Horse Girl” video

RollingStoneCoverPicasa

In this deeply messed-up video
for a psycho riff-rock tune, a
My Little Pony doll trots off to
Hollywood to be a hooker, then
turns into a flying, laser-eyed
horse-demon. Hey, These Arms
Are Snakes can we have some
of whatever shit you’re on?

Pitchfork drops props on Artificial Army

WTF: These Arms Are Snakes: “Horse Girl” [Video]

We’re not 100%– maybe there is some subtle symbolism we’re missing here– but it looks like this video is about a My Little Pony doll that decides to try life as a prostitute in L.A., gets pelted with drugs by a giant butthole, then turns into a goat-horned, evil super horse. Oh, the pony also eats sparkling maggots and then, after changing into a superhorse, destroys L.A. with some lightning-fire. It’s also intercut with footage of These Arms Are Snakes, who thrash and sweat. Still, it’s hard to compete with that butthole. The video was directed by Artificial Army.
